1. informal A shortening of "android," a self-operating humanoid robot. Most often used in science fiction. This bar is strictly for organic lifeforms—no droids allowed!
2. slang A person who acts in a mechanical, automatic, or lifeless manner; a robotic person. I felt sorry for all the droids on the bus, commuting to their soul-sucking desk jobs where they would type away mindlessly at their computers for eight hours a day.
