  1. The author, in the conclusion (p. 342), mentions that this argument is what convinced him on the desirability of 100 % reserves.

  2. Incidentally, a similar critique could be raised against proposals the author discusses for separating the medium of exchange from the unit of account (Greenfield and Yeager 1983; see also White 1986).
